having broken bread and shared tea with nomadic yak herders, iranian princesses, refugee children in exile, gurus, and saints, this is a brief visual account of the past twenty years, of one ever-changing lifetime.
my images are very personal, documenting the very real face of cultures on the brink of being absorbed by the all-pervading commercial globalization of the human race, an individual perception and expression transcending language barriers and cultural concepts, relating directly via the lens of a camera.
living in villages and monasteries among people with backgrounds in ancient cultures has taught me to appreciate the simplicity of being and the common spirit of humanity.
using photography as an expression of sensory perception, to strip away the tommy hilfiger and nike exteriors and reveal the heart of generations behind the hype of global uniformity.
there is very little, if any, post processing,
straight off the camera, in the moment.
